Tamsin Jones studied music at Newcastle University in the 1990s and went on to earn at PhD from the University of Birmingham in 2000 for her research into the music of Heinrich Schütz. Inspired by her interest in Early Music, Tamsin has composed numerous sacred and secular choral works, including the popular Christmas carol Noel: Verbum Caro Factum Est.

Her music is noted for its rhythmic energy and intriguing reimagining of older styles and techniques. Her music has been performed far and wide, from the USA and Canada to New Zealand.
